new setup of an r7000 I've installed netgear genie, downloaded newest firmware, created an openDNS account and set the parental controls to high. It seems to have no filtering effect on social media, porn or anything else. what the heck am I doing wrong, as my user name suggests I'm not really good at this.

Turn off AP Mode. OpenDNS filtering does not work with AP Mode turned on. Go to router administration, select Advanced Tab, then Advanced Setup. Go to Wireless AP, and uncheck Enable AP Mode. The router will reboot and then the Parental Controls will work fine.
